Technical alerts

All checks

Three different types of technical checks are performed: data coverage, device battery status, and proper dendrometer position.

In each of these three checks there are four status levels with the flags: ok, attention, warning, alert.

The map shows the most critical flag per site for all three checks and all sensors.

Download the detailed report here: alerts only, all flags.

Data source: TreeNet raw data on Decentlab server, past 7 days.

Battery status

The four flags indicate the battery status. Shown is the most critical flag of an individual device per site.

Data coverage

The four flags indicate a data coverage of >95% (ok), >80% (attention), >60% (alarming), and <60% (alert). Shown is the most critical flag of an individual device per site.

Dendrometer position

Point dendrometers applied in TreeNet have a measurement range of 20’000 µm. Flags are set according to the actual position of the sensor: ok: <13’000 µm, attention: >13’000 µm, alarming: >15’000 µm, alert: >17’000 µm. Shown is the most critical flag of an individual device per site.

TreeNet Switzerland collects continuous data on stem radius fluctuations measured with point dendrometers from trees all over Switzerland and estimates drought and growth indicators for Swiss forest ecosystems. We closely collaborate with the Long-term Forest Ecosystem Research Programme (LWF/WSL), the ETHZ, the Institute for Applied Plant Biology (IAP), and the University of Basel.
